Applecross Gym

We are very lucky at Hartfield House Hostel to have a fully-equipped gym on site. We have partnered with Applecross Gym to provide free use of the equipment as part of your stay here with us. All you need to do is ask at reception when you check in, fill out an induction form and collect the door code.

So often when holidaying, the normal fitness routine goes out of the window. But when staying at Hartfield you can get your usual workout done and dusted without disrupting your holiday, or maybe even use this as an opportunity to set new goals.

About Applecross Gym

Applecross Gym is a small but functional gym situated in a wooden building to the front of Hartfield House Hostel. Cardio equipment includes treadmill, cross trainer, rowing machine and watt bike. There are weights benches, a free weights area and power rack.

Sarah McCowan, Applecross Gym owner, is a personal trainer. She offers one-to-one or group personal training sessions.

Private sessions: £25 for an hour.

Wild swimming coaching

Applecross offers some of the cleanest and clearest waters in the UK, so if wild swimming is your thing, or you would like to give it a try, why not book a session with Sarah. She is a qualified open water swimming coach and has a huge amount of experience of swimming in these cool Highland waters.

Each session starts with a 5 minute beach clean followed by a safety briefing. You will then get in the water for your swim! Once you have finished your session, there will be hot chocolate and a run through of everything covered.
